As the organization grows, we have been busy promoting the south Main Street area with different events.  The next event will be our second annual Mardi Gras Parade, Let's All Go to Mardi Gras! On Saturday, February 2, after the parade the Mardi Gras Ball will be at Women's City Club.

Our first Mardi Gras parade was a big success, in spite of the cold, windy weather. Take a look at some of the pictures.

Our wildly successful public art project, Places, Spaces, and Chairs is going to be repeated in 2008. We are now accepting artists applications. Click on the "take a seat on South Main Street" link at the top of this page for more information. The public art project in 2006 was our first project and the opening event was a great time. An event called “Hidden Treasures on South Main Street” on October 13, 2007 was lots of fun. We invited artists, craftspeople, antique and collectible owners to participate in a show and sale right in the middle of Main Street. We had 18 vendors selling and displaying their wares and people browsing and buying all day. Look for details about next year!
