Continued work with Walgreen's developers
The application to Capitol Zoning District Commission has been withdrawn pending changes to the submitted design. Springfield Holdings plans to resubmit in July. Streetlights Progress continues in the process to install pedestrian friendly, decorative streetlights on Main Street. The engineering has been completed and the contractor will be selected soon. The Business Improvement District commissioners and I expect the project to be complete by late summer. Panhandling Reduction Program There has been some recent coverage in the news about a program to reduce aggressive panhandling in the downtown area. SoMa along with Downtown Little Rock Partnership and the City of Little Rock are working to establish a program that has worked in several other cities. We are still in the planning stages, but hope to roll out the program by the end of July. Details to come. Altheimer Foundation Grant Information Students from Clinton School of Public Service and Bowen School of Law worked on several project to fulfill a grant from Altheimer Foundation encouraging the schools to work together.
